Wellnomics® Risk Management uses a client/server architecture, consisting of:
Wellnomics Architecture

Wellnomics Web Server

The Wellnomics web server stores all assessment data. A web-based interface called the Wellnomics Portal allows employees to login and complete their assessments and view their reports. Authorised managers can log in and view management reports on their staff, or the whole organisation. All that is needed to access the Wellnomics Portal is an Internet browser.

Wellnomics Client (Recorder + Breaks & Exercises)

The Wellnomics client consists of Wellnomics Recorder and Wellnomics Breaks & Exercises1
Wellnomics Recorder runs in the background on each office worker’s computer to record statistics on their computer use. This information is used to build a risk profile of each employee’s workload. The data is logged daily to the Wellnomics web server where it is stored in an SQL database.
Wellnomics Breaks & Exercises reminds office workers to take regular breaks and exercises and provides them feedback on their workload and break compliance.

Why can’t Wellnomics Recorder and Breaks & Exercises run on the server?

In order to monitor everyone’s mouse and keyboard activity Wellnomics Recorder and Wellnomics Breaks & Exercises needs to run directly on each employee’s desktop.

Organisational Structure HR Data Import

Wellnomics can facilitate reports in accordance with your organisational structure simply by importing the required data from your organisation’s HR database. This data can be updated at regular intervals using a comma separated values (CSV) file format exported from your HR database. Note that only basic HR data is needed, such as name, email address, department, location, and supervisor.

Wellnomics System Requirements

Client Desktop Hardware Requirements

The table below lists the recommended minimum hardware configuration to run Wellnomics on the desktop.
Disk Space 30 MB
CPU 1% in background (1GHz+ CPU speed)
Memory Usage 5MB (Console minimised)

Server Software Requirements

The Wellnomics Risk Management Software is based on Microsoft technology and requires the following software components:
  • Microsoft Server 2003 R2
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with at least Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft .Net 2.0
  • Access to an SMTP server
Server Hardware Requirements
The table below lists the recommended minimum server hardware requirements2. for hosting the Wellnomics Risk Management software in a production environment.

For less than 10,000 users both IIS and SQL Server may be run on the same machine.

For more than 10,000 users a separate machine for IIS Server and SQL Server is recommended. Disk drives should be run in a RAID configuration to maximize data transfer rates.

Users IIS/SQL Server IIS Server SQL Server
1 – 1,000 Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM - -
1,000 – 10,000 Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM - -
10,000 – 50,000 - Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM
50,000 – 100,000 - Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 4 GB RAM

As a general rule, please allow approx 2 MB per user per year for the storage of computer use and compliance data in the Wellnomics Database.
